To govern a massive state, one must possess a combination of qualities and a special position. A serious confrontation ensues. The powerful leaders of the Russian kingdom present arguments in their favor. Intrigues do not cease in the Kremlin. Courtiers and the top of the government plot and engage in cunning conspiracies against common enemies. Resourceful Boris Godunov lets it be known of his existence. Despite his lack of prestigious status and noble lineage, the attractive man is able to assert himself as a leader and take the coveted throne.
