In late April 2016, the final episode of the 6th season of the series "The Walking Dead" was released on wide screens, telling the story of a widespread zombie invasion that sweeps away everything alive in its path.
The 7th season of the horror film was released on October 23, 2016. Unprecedented ratings achieved by this picture allowed its creators, AMC channel and director Ernest R. Dickerson, to publicly announce the production of new seasons even before the end of the previous ones. The new 8th season will be shown on October 22, 2017. Filming of the upcoming 16 episodes of the project took place in the state of Georgia since May of this year. As usual, the show's creators take a break for a month and a half after the New Year. The second part of this season will be shown in 2018.
What will happen in the 8th season
A war erupts between the "Saviors" group and the survivors led by Rick Grimes. The former sheriff has lost many allies, but the residents of the Kingdom under Ezekiel's leadership are ready to assist in the confrontation with the villain. Negan's army is quite strong, as for many months they have taken any found weapons and resources for themselves, leaving no opportunities for their slaves to rebel. But in war, tactics often prevail over strong weaponry. Will Alexandria stand against the post-apocalyptic tyrant and restore peace to the blood-soaked land? This is what the main characters of our project will investigate in the upcoming episodes...
The key roles in this part were given to Jeffrey Dean Morgan (also known as the leader of the Saviors, Negan in the series) and Andrew Lincoln (former sheriff, Rick Grimes), who have been delighting viewers since the start of the project in 2010.
The premiere of the series took place on October 31, 2010, and the film not only did not lose its popularity but also gained even more strength on the global television. The 1st season consisted of only 6 pilot episodes, but then the creators started shooting 16 episodes.
