The creators of the Turkish series "Magnificent Century" plan to launch the TV show "Muhtesem Yuzyil: Kosem" in mid-November 2015. The producer of the new multi-part melodrama is Timur Savci, who assisted in creating the spin-off that became legendary.

The plot of the series is based on the history of the great Ottoman Empire and returns viewers to the distant 16th century. At that time, the future state of Turkey was ruled by sultans, one of whom was Ahmed I. His wife, Mahpeyker (also known as Muhtesem Yuzyil: Kosem), became one of the most important figures in the history of the empire.

The script unfolds starting with the 13-year-old Ahmed (a descendant of Suleiman), who encounters a captured girl in the harem. Later, she becomes the favorite of the ruler and, thanks to her beauty and intelligence, occupies a prestigious position in the monarchical chain. She gives birth to two children for her husband - Murad IV and Ibrahim I, with the efforts of their mother managing to seat them on the throne.

A fierce struggle for the throne revolves around the power and wealth of the Ottoman Empire. Politicians and the sultan's children orchestrate coups one after another after their father's death. The multi-part film will tell us the full story of Kosem, who was able to become a Hatun (the mother of the ruling sultan) and help her sons, and subsequently her grandsons, to conquer the reins of governing the state.

Unfortunately, this story will end tragically, but it does not negate the series of fascinating plot twists and intrigues that await you throughout the entire show. If the premiere of the show is successful, viewers can expect no less than a hundred episodes that will open a window into the world of Turkish sultanate and history.
