The TV channel 1+1, together with the creative association "95 Quarter", has launched a scandalous comedy series "Servant of the People" on air, in which the famous comedian Vladimir Zelensky plays the main role. The first season will have a total of 24 episodes, each lasting up to 25 minutes.
The plot of the new TV show is quite relevant for Ukraine, poking fun at and capturing the most vital topics. The main character of the series is a history teacher, Vasily Petrovich Goloborodko, from a school in Kyiv. Students from his class accidentally film his monologue about how poorly the country is being run. The video then gains a staggering number of views and becomes a catalyst for the teacher's pre-election campaign for the presidency. Unexpectedly for everyone, Vasily wins and assumes the position of the Commander-in-Chief of Ukraine. The ordinary person begins to try to fulfill his pre-election promises, but everything turns out to be not as simple as he thought. Meanwhile, every scene is filled with jokes about the absurdity of the situation itself, and local oligarchs will attempt to overthrow the new ruler.
The series "Servant of the People" became one of the most popular projects of 2015 and even surpassed the ratings of a qualifying match for the European Football League. The script covers 100 days in the life of the country's president, Goloborodko. The filming took place in Kyiv, and each episode cost the TV channel 90 thousand dollars.
