The comedy series Rebel by director Vadim Zhan will be released on screens with new episodes of the second season approximately at the beginning of 2018. Films where the main character is an antisocial personality have always found a response from the audience. And this one was no exception.
The final episode of the first season of "Rebel" was released in June 2016. The plot is based on mocking social stereotypes. However, what is atypical is that the protagonist is not a young hot-headed teenager, but an elderly person who constantly defends his opinion and doesn't hesitate to use sarcasm and witty banter. Despite his grey hair, the character is very active and always finds adventures.
What will happen in the 2nd season
In the next season of the series "Rebel," the theme of disrespect towards old age will continue, as well as the usual emphasis on the problems of the modern world. Unwillingness to work, dishonesty, flattery - the "grumpy old man" will go through it all to cause problems for bad people and provide positive emotions for the viewers.
Interestingly, the performer of the main role - Simon Callow - has won the award for "Best Supporting Male Role" and starred in one of the most unconventional comedic films, "Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls 2". The actor does an excellent job portraying an old man - grumpy but fair.
As of November 2016, there were only 3 episodes of the series, and they are still being released. The film's script describes the life of atypical retiree Henry Palmer, who swears, insults, and mocks those around him, but only with good intentions and maintaining his dignity.
