Young Mildred enrolls in the Academy of Young Witches. She is tasked with learning all the intricacies of the wizard's difficult craft. However, the girl does not excel in exemplary behavior and constantly finds herself in various unpleasant situations outside the classroom. For this, she is awarded the nickname "The Worst Witch." Studying is difficult for the unruly girl - she often reads the wrong spell and summons an evil spirit. Or she throws the wrong root into a potion and turns someone into an animal. But Mildred doesn't lose faith in her abilities and tries to become an exemplary student. She is aided in this by her loyal friends from the academy. She also has a rival, Ethel, who never misses an opportunity to tease or put her in an awkward situation. But during their studies, each of the students discovers their own gift. Mildred really wants to learn some ability and diligently trains to become a real witch and save the world from the forces of evil.
