Aleksandr Kushaev, the producer of the project "Zuleikha Opens Her Eyes," announced that Season 2 will be prepared for airing no earlier than mid-2021.

The management of the TV channel "Russia-1" will air the finale of the first part in the second half of 2020. The historical mini-series is based on the eponymous work, contributed to by writer Guzel Yahina.

The charming beauty named Zuleikha possesses a modest and prudent nature. She always obeyed the older generation and respected ancient traditions. She had to part with her freedom early and marry a cruel-hearted boy. The chosen one turned out to be much older than her and had no intentions of allowing her to work. The stubborn man locked her up in four walls and forced her to tidy up the house. The haughty mother of the taciturn husband instantly disliked the attractive girl. She did not miss a single opportunity to put the bride in her place and humiliate her in her son's eyes. The young woman was literally enslaved by her newfound relatives. She endured endless humiliations and accepted her unfortunate fate. Soon, brazen invaders burst into the village. They dealt with some of the Tatars, and the main heroine and the surviving residents were exiled. The brave peasant woman had to learn to live in harsh Siberia. She met a colossal number of fearless citizens who found themselves in a similar situation.

The key roles were played by Chulpan Khamatova, the star of the films "White Raven" and "Cinepoetry", Yulia Peresild, who appeared in the films "The Envelope" and "Cold Tango", Sergei Makovetsky, noticed in the series "Death Track" and "Quiet Don", and other actors.

The premiere will start in 2020. 8 episodes were filmed. The story centers around a beautiful Tatar woman who tries to adapt to a different life after the death of her husband.
