The popularity of many sports is skyrocketing in the country. Many experts consider this time to be the beginning of a golden era for Australian swimming schools. A 16-year-old boy named Danny Kelly easily enters one of the most prestigious schools and takes his first small step towards his ultimate dream. He wants to win at the upcoming Olympic Games. The school doesn't welcome the boy warmly - being from a working-class family, he seems like a stranger to many of the children of wealthy parents. His swimming coach, Frank Torm, and his section buddy, Martin Taylor, actively help him adapt to the new school. With their support, the boy starts training hard and wants to prove to everyone that he can become the country's best swimmer, nicknamed Barracuda.
