The plot unfolds in the financial capital of the United States - the city of New York. The main character of the series is the ambitious and self-assured financier and trader Bobby Axelrod. His trading activity on Wall Street markets has brought in over a billion dollars in less than a year from just a few million. The success of "Axe Capital" has garnered excessive interest from prosecutor Chuck Rhoades. The law enforcer tries to find out if the new market star is involved in fraud and discovers traces of illegal activity. The business owner starts fighting against the government, which has pressured his company and initiated legal proceedings. The prosecutor's wife works with Axelrod and refuses to quit out of pride, which complicates the case. Thus, Chuck Rhoades begins a confrontation not only with one of the richest and most successful businessmen but also with his own spouse.
