The First Channel will present an unexpected space drama "The Particle of the Universe" to viewers at the beginning of 2017. Created by playwright Evgeny Grishkovtsov, the series is dedicated to the 55th anniversary of the first human spaceflight.

The actions of the 8-episode project revolve around Russian cosmonauts who work on board the ISS, as well as the people on Earth who ensure their safety. The script tells the story of a fictional expedition on board the International Space Station, which is launched into orbit with joint efforts. The real heroes actually exist, but not everyone sees their actions. In addition, dozens of people are working for the benefit of these invisible heroes - scientists from the Institute of Space Medicine, the Mission Control Center "Zvezdny", and even ordinary workers at Baikonur perform a number of complex tasks daily to ensure safety and resources for flights beyond the Earth's atmosphere. The plot also touches on the lives of women who are waiting for their loved ones from a deadly dangerous and incredibly interesting mission. Relationships among astronauts on board also become heated, as they have to spend a huge amount of time in a closed and cramped space...
