In order to get rid of the brothers Vitalik and Sanya, the deputy mayor, Goryzhnikov, destroys their small business. The newly formed team of Foma is puzzled by the impossibility of building their own future. But Oleg finds a compromise and offers the brothers to take over a buffet in the theater. Ernest Shilovsky has come up with a plan to save his brainchild. The great artistic director wants to put on a play worthy of the "Golden Mask" award, which would automatically save the theater. Problems arise when the actors go against their director and refuse to stage the new play. Meanwhile, Foma and Sofia go together to the regional center. At an independent media publishing house, they want to shed light on the problem of Zheleznogorsk, but an unpleasant surprise awaits them there.
