President of BBC America cable channel Sarah Barnett on the day of the premiere of the final 10th episode of the fourth season, June 16, announced the renewal of the TV show. The premiere of the fifth season of the series "Dark Child" will take place in April 2017. The new volume of the story will also consist of 10 episodes.

What will happen in the 5th season

Viewers will delve even deeper into the affairs of the "Brightborn" corporation. After the cloning and implantation technology is exposed by journalists and the leading engineer-biologist is killed, the survival of the series' clones is threatened. In the finale of the previous season, Rachel stopped all of her clones and nearly killed her mother, while the male clone took Sarah's daughter and guardian hostage.
