On December 11, 2015, the creator of the show Richard Warlow announced that the TV series has been renewed for two more years. The fifth season of "Ripper Street" will premiere on Amazon in early 2017. Additionally, this season will be the final one in the franchise.

What will happen in the 5th season

A team of detectives from Whitechapel will investigate the case of a new serial killer who has emerged in London. They will have to track down and apprehend the psychopath who is terrorizing the entire city. Detective Bennet Drake takes on the responsibility of leading the investigative team, but faces a lot of pressure. The number of victims is rapidly increasing, and the police will have to take desperate measures to find and imprison the killer.

The TV series "Ripper Street" was first aired on BBC America on December 30, 2012. In December 2013, the channel canceled the show due to low ratings, but the rights to the project were bought by the media service Amazon Video. In total, 40 episodes of the detective drama by Richard Warlow have been released over the first four seasons.
