In 2014, the American channel HBO presented to viewers around the world its new series with a dramatic story.

It is difficult to start a new life after major changes, but there is no other choice. In the suburb of the medium-sized city of Mapleton, it was always crowded, but peace was the main feature of the community. Everything changed when a collapse occurred in the world, and no one could explain it. More than half of humanity simply disappeared from the planet, leaving only a few percent behind. In the suburb alone, more than one hundred thousand people vanished. After such a thing, it is difficult to come to terms with it and continue living. The main character, Kevin Garvey, is the chief of police in this land. He is trying by all means to maintain fragile order among the surviving residents. It has become very difficult to do this, as various cults, false preachers, gurus, and priests have emerged. They all spread the ideas that the survivors are guilty of sins and were not chosen to be taken to heaven like those who ascended. The man himself lost his family, and because of this, his wife joined one of the sects, while his son followed the popular false preacher of these days, Wayne. It is difficult for Kevin, but he understands that they cannot be brought back, and his duty continues to exist. Besides him, no one else can bring at least some order in all this chaos.
