The producers planned for Dreama Walker, known to the audience from the movies "Vampirification" and "Light Green", to take on the role of the magnificent Gemma. Then the creators changed their decision in favor of Beth Burs.

At the center of the extraordinary events is a balanced guy named Dave, who previously lived with his family in the Midwest. Then he decided to make significant changes to his established life and move to California. The fact that the apartment was purchased in a predominantly black neighborhood did not bother the brunette. The young man was confident that he would find understanding with his neighbors and establish contact. His incomparable wife and good-natured offspring, Grover, were not in a hurry to embrace the changes. However, the attractive woman was offered a directorial position at an educational institution. The undeterred family gathered their belongings and followed her. Gemma's sociable husband had a feeling that their family would easily settle in and find good friends. Immediately upon arrival, the key characters encountered Calvin Butler and his immediate relatives. The morose African American was angry that white troublemakers had intruded into the neighborhood. The cantankerous man had no intention of becoming their friend and decided to turn the strangers' existence into a nightmare.
