What does a young specialist doctor need to fully understand what he is in the surrounding world of medicine? How to deviate a little from what he was taught in university? How to face the reality that says - it's all different, my dear? Devon Pravish ended up in an internship with Conrad Hawkins. No one will say that the mentor is a bad or untalented doctor. No. But his methods are not liked by anyone. Hawkins is a brilliant professional, but - at the same time, violating all laws of kindness and most rules of morality. Colleagues consider him a psychopath, but he, at that time, saves lives of people solely through his moral values, which are not understood by anyone. Devon started fighting with Hawkins from the start of the internship. Only time, as usual, becomes the judge. Pravish gradually begins to reconsider his views on his chosen profession and his evaluation of Hawkins. The conclusion comes with a bright flash: a rare chance to realize reality falls to few once in a century. And learning from a genius - even rarer. And when the revelation comes, you realize that cruelty is a necessary component of compassion.
