The adaptation of the work by American writer Philip Meyer will not leave anyone indifferent. It is the story of a family that went through all the bloody horror of those years. Only a few know that America did not immediately become a superpower. It had to go a long way to become established before achieving such a status. In his not yet thirteen years, Eli had to experience such emotional pain that not every adult sees in a lifetime.

One day in 1849, Indians attacked his home and killed his closest loved ones, his mother and sister. They spared the boy, giving him life but taking him with them to their tribe. Growing up among the Indians, he became one of them. Indistinguishable from them, he was infused with their spirit and traditions. Many years have passed since then. Now Eli is no longer that defenseless little child. He himself has become a father, raising his son Peter as he sees fit, using more stick than carrot. For the boy, this world seemed too cruel. He didn't understand it and, seeing that his father was often dissatisfied with him, he closed himself off and surrendered to dreams where there was no room for envy and evil. But he will have to fight for his warm place under the sun, just like his father once fought to reclaim the right to live.
