The film company Mirada has released official information about the closure of the American television series "The Strain," so the release of the 5th season is not expected.

The final series of the concluding part is expected to be broadcast on the channel "FX" on September 17, 2017. The thrilling story is based on the homonymous trilogy by Guillermo Del Toro. He created his brilliant work in collaboration with Chuck Hogan.

About the plot of the series

After the spread of a dangerous virus, a certain number of years have passed. Many of the main characters have lost their loved ones, but despite the huge losses, they try not to lose hope and continue to fight for the world to return to what it used to be. Dr. Goodweather is unaware of what is happening to his underage son, who is responsible for the death of hundreds of victims. The boy lives with a powerful creature that intends to use him in its wicked plans. The monsters have subjugated ordinary people and formed an organization that forces them to give blood. In exchange, they promise the citizens a peaceful existence in picturesque surroundings. Few people realize that it is all just a cunning trap. Girls are forced to get pregnant and give birth to offspring for the evil creatures, which will later be used for the benefit of the strigoi. Vasily Fet and his companions wander around the country, hoping to find a way to save the peaceful inhabitants.

The key roles are played by Corey Stoll, known for the movies "The Air Marshal" and "Ant-Man," Jonathan Hyde, who appeared in the films "Crimson Peak" and "The Mummy," Mia Maestro, involved in the projects "Hannibal" and "White Collar," and other actors. This work has been nominated multiple times for the "Saturn" film award.

The premiere took place on July 13, 2014. This science fiction drama consists of 46 episodes. The screenplay tells the story of a group of brave rescuers trying to find a way out of a dead-end situation.
