The story of the richest man of the 20th century – American entrepreneur Jean Paul Getty. The famous tycoon, who owned a multi-billion dollar fortune, became famous for his stinginess, which ruined the life of one of his numerous grandchildren – Paul Getty III. In the 70s, the young heir was kidnapped for ransom. However, the request for $17 million was not taken seriously. The wealthy man, confident in the setup, refused to pay the blood money and blamed it all on extortion from the careless grandson, who got into debt because of his adventures. Only the severed ear of the 16-year-old teenager sent in an envelope along with a lock of his hair made the billionaire believe in the reality of what happened. Despite the scary package threatening the life of his closest relative, the billionaire closed his eyes to it and began bargaining with the criminals, trying to lower the specified amount. The events, built on the distrust of the stingy grandfather, forever shattered the psyche of the young hostage, addicted him to drugs, and made him disabled.
