The comedy animated series is of American production from Underdog Productions and Fuzzy Door Productions. The leading creator of the series is Seth MacFarlane ("Family Guy").

The storyline revolves around the Smith family. The head of the family, Stan, works for the CIA and is a secret agent-Republican. At the same time, he is in excellent shape, a real fighter, but not very smart. Stan's distinguishing features are a perfectly ironed suit, straight posture, and a very strong prominent chin. His wife, Francine, is a pleasant woman who knows what wisdom is but can sometimes do foolish actions. She is a housewife. The Smiths have a daughter and a son. Their daughter's name is Hayley - a real whirlwind of emotions, adheres to bright liberal views, loves nature, and is close to the hippie culture; she sometimes takes mild narcotic substances. Their son is called Steve; he is shy and cannot establish contact with girls. He spends most of his free time with his other friend Roger, who is not even a human but an alien. Roger became a part of the family after he once helped Stan escape from trouble in the cosmic "Area 51". The alien loves alcohol, is fond of wigs, and is also terribly cunning. Another strange member of the family is a little talking goldfish named Klaus. The fish can think and speak because it has the consciousness of a German athlete, and it also moves around the house being in a bowl and pushing off with its fins. Of course, such colorful characters only emphasize the dark humor, irony, and obvious comedic nature of many situations depicted in the animated series.
