A new comedy series from HBO will premiere in 2017. The project's director is Ryan McFaul ("Inside Amy Schumer"), who has already explored similar themes in his films. The main writer and actor is Pete Holmes ("American Dad").

The captivating narrative tells the story of a stand-up comedian named Pete. He is a beginner comedian, so he is working in small clubs and bars, not yet having wide recognition and success among the audience. But Pete is very determined, and he is firmly striving to reach the heights of comedic art and fulfill his dream. Since childhood, he enjoyed performing for his peers, staging small sketches and scenes. Now he has grown up, but the creative path to high fees is arduous and long. Well, Pete is ready to overcome all difficulties, especially since he is truly happy - he is engaged in his favorite job and married to a beautiful girl who supports him in everything. At least, that's how it seemed to him until one incident, when he returned home early and... found his wife with her colleague from work at school. How is this possible? What could have led her to infidelity? After all, everything was so good. But that was his view of their life together, while the woman, deprived of attention and financial means, could not protect their family happiness from temptation and betrayal, and deceived Pete. Literally with a broken heart, the hero finds the strength to at least not lose his passion for his work. He seeks solitude in his creativity, deciding to start from scratch in another city - New York. However, the city that never sleeps does not welcome the young man very warmly, he cannot find work in any establishment. The only thing that remains for Pete is to ask his friends for help, and from this moment on, his incredible adventure begins, full of new events, acquaintances, amusing and touching episodes, as well as having an unforeseen ending.
