G.L.O.W. release date

The well-known resource TVLine reported that the streaming company Netflix has ordered 10 episodes of the multi-series film "G.L.O.W." (in Russian translation "G.L.O.W." or "Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling"). The series is being created by Jenji Kohan and his colleague Tara Hermann (authors of the bestseller "Orange Is the New Black").

The story will tell about a young actress named Ruth who lives in Los Angeles. The girl is unlucky and can't find a role for herself, but in a lucky moment, she ends up at a casting for a project about a women's wrestling league. Trying on a shiny tight costume, she realizes that participating in this shoot can fulfill her dream of a famous career. The series is based on the story of the real women's wrestling league "Gorgeous Ladies Of Wrestling." The league was created in the 1980s as a sort of challenge to the male wrestling league WWF (World Wrestling Federation). Women's fights were shown on American TV channels from 1986 to 1990 as a four-season series. The shoots involved models, actresses, and choreographers. Viewers can expect spectacular staged tricks and fights, stunning beauties with high hairstyles and bright spandex outfits, musical interludes, and short sketches from the lives of the wrestlers. Here, comedic moments intersect with touching and melodramatic episodes, and masterfully created scenes in the ring are incredibly attractive. The script for the series should be thanked to Carly Mensch ("Weeds," "Orange Is the New Black") and Liz Flahive ("Nurse Jackie," "Homeland"), who are also the producers of the new project. Among the actresses, Kim Gatewood and Britney Young, who previously appeared in the project "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend," can be highlighted.
