A Russian series about life in an 18th century Belarusian estate.

The series tells the story of a village called Angelovo. The estate is inhabited by brothers, who now have their own families. Angelov has three daughters, and the intellectual professor's family, the Kondratyevs, are raising three sons. They are studying at a village school, where blacksmithing is taught. The boys make golden covers for icons. The professor's daughters teach at this school. The quiet and peaceful life dramatically changes with the arrival of 1917. The heads of the families perish at the very beginning of the revolution. The orphaned children are left to fend for themselves. Each of them awaits a special destiny. Some stay in their ancestral home, while others are destined to go through the stages of the camps. Childhood love between the daughters and sons grows into a strong feeling. Some manage to emigrate to France. Over the course of 16 episodes, almost seventy years of these dynasties' lives will be covered. Throughout all this time, they were protected by the icon of the Guardian Angel. It guided them on the true path and protected them from thoughtless actions. The family relic, the Werewolf, also became a symbol of the struggle against human vices. It also guarded against sin and hasty conclusions.
