Atlanta release date
The comedy-drama series "Atlanta" went into development as early as August 2013, but it only appeared on American viewers' screens on September 6, 2016. The idea for the script belongs to American actor and screenwriter Donald Glover, who, by the way, also plays the lead role. Russian viewers may remember Donald for his role as an African-American scientist in the Hollywood blockbuster "The Martian". The other two characters are Lakeith Stanfield, who appeared in "Straight Outta Compton", and the less well-known Brian Tyree Henry.
The plot revolves around two brothers who dream of reaching the heights of the rap scene. Earn is just an ordinary loser from Atlanta, leading a regular life, working as a manager, and living in his girlfriend's apartment, where they raise a little daughter together. To Earn's parents, he has long become a burden and a walking nuisance. In general, life is not worth a penny. But unexpectedly, Earn learns about his cousin Alfred, a rapper who goes by the pseudonym "Paper Boi". Without much hesitation, Earn decides to offer his services as a manager to his relative in order to finally change his own life and the life of his family. However, it seems that Alfred is not as enthusiastic about this idea.
