A former professional military man named Barry, who served in an elite unit of the U.S. Marine Corps, returns to civilian life. He can't seem to find a job in peacetime, his virtuoso skill in handling weapons is completely unnecessary here. He moves from state to state but can't settle anywhere. Money starts to run out catastrophically. As a result, the man gets involved with the criminal underworld of the Midwest, where he starts working as a professional killer. He becomes a hired assassin. However, even such a risky and dirty job does not bring significant financial prosperity. For each completed assignment, Barry receives meager pennies. The greedy boss of the local gang does not want to pay the hired gun more. As a result, the man decides to try his luck in sunny California, where there are people willing to pay him more for accurate shots. However, when he arrives in Los Angeles, Barry unwittingly ends up on stage, where he succeeds in many ways. He begins a career as a professional actor.
