Woody Allen first decided to try himself as the author and director of a new series called "Crisis in Six Scenes", which is scheduled to premiere at the end of September 2016. The episodes will be short, only 30 minutes each. There are a total of six episodes planned for the first season.

The main role in the series is assigned to the author himself, which is not surprising, but the rest of the cast is familiar to the audience. The events will unfold in one of the American states. It is the 60s. Times were turbulent for everyone back then. People tried to leave the city and settle far away from the hustle and bustle. One of such ordinary families decided to follow the general exodus and, after buying a house in the rural countryside, they could finally breathe calmly, enjoying the silence and admiring the local picturesque landscapes. But they were not allowed to fully enjoy their new life. An uninvited guest burst into their house, turning everything upside down with his visit. They didn't know who he was and where he came from. No specific information could be obtained from the questions asked. Apparently, he had no intention of leaving their home. After giving him the opportunity to recover and rest after a long journey, they prepared to hear the truth, which is unlikely to please them.
