The events unfold in 1994. The audience is invited to be transported to the territory of Northern Ireland. In the colorful town lives an attractive girl named Erin, endlessly struggling with her teenage problems. She is raised by a stern and incredibly demanding mother, a father who suffers from a hopeless existence and occasional failures, and an eccentric grandfather, Joe. The emotional representative of the older generation cannot stand his wayward son-in-law and refuses to reconcile with unwanted neighbors. The grandfather adores his children and charming grandchildren. However, even boundless affection for other relatives does not allow him to treat the spouse of one of his daughters well. Erin calmly observes what is happening in her homeland. News broadcasts almost daily show alarming reports from the streets of a major city. Checkpoints are everywhere, documents are being checked. The underage protagonist and her cheerful friends try not to pay attention to law enforcement and the military. The young girl is interested in the work of musical groups and dreams of a bomber jacket.
