The series will premiere in the fall of 2017. It is being broadcasted by The CW channel, and the filming was done by Fake Empire Productions and CBS Television Studios. The idea for creating the remake was inspired by the eponymous multi-part film that aired on ABC in the 80s. The striking and popular story's uniqueness lies in portraying the beautiful lives of wealthy citizens. Everyday life and habits, intrigues and secrets, the exposure of morals and interests – captivate the viewer from the first minute.

The plot revolves around two wealthy families whose destinies intertwine due to life circumstances. The Carrington and Colby families are at odds with each other. The reason for that is not business relations but the intertwining of personal interests. The luxurious life in Denver does not go without love and passion, as well as greed and temptations, sins and vices. Blake Carrington's former wife, Alexis Colby, is the owner of a large company. In her time, she left her children for another man, who cannot forget the offense. Her daughter, Fallon, is not ready to forgive her mother and accept her stepmother, Cristal, who works for her father as a secretary. Former lover of Cristal, Matthew Blaisdel, is also entangled in love and family disputes, and cunning Alexis wishes to demonstrate her influence over the abandoned family. In addition, besides their daughter, the divorced couple has children who get involved in unpleasant and disgusting situations.
