The detective series "Elementary" from the CBS channel premiered on September 27, 2012. The show is based on the novels by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle about Detective Sherlock Holmes and is adapted for modern times, similar to the BBC series.

The story revolves around the brilliant detective Sherlock Holmes. After discovering his son's severe drug addiction, his father sends him to a rehabilitation clinic in New York. Taking advantage of the opportunity, Sherlock solves a series of crimes in Brooklyn and becomes a consultant for the local police. Previously, he worked with the Scotland Yard, but he prefers criminal cases in the United States over the British ones and decides to stay. To prevent him from relapsing into drug use, Morland Holmes hires Dr. Joan Watson, who not only serves as Sherlock's sober companion but also assists him in solving a series of cases. Their relationship is strained as the renowned detective has a difficult personality and constantly causes problems for his colleagues in the police force and for Dr. Watson. Soon, Holmes briefly leaves the country, and Joan, who has become deeply involved in the detective business, opens her own agency. After some time, Sherlock returns to Brooklyn, and a conflict arises between them, which they soon resolve and resume working together on the investigations of the New York Police Department's cases. Between the lines of the plot, there is also a storyline involving the investigation of the murder of the main character's beloved, Irene Adler, with Moriarty and Vinnie Jones being the culprits.
