The multi-episode crime detective "Counterfeiters" from Channel One will debut in 2016. The series was created by Mark Gorobets, under the patronage of whom recently such hits as "Closed School", "The Last Ship" and "Angel or Demon" were presented.

The TV series will reveal to viewers the secrets of counterfeit money production. The main hero of the show is police officer Potapov (actor Sergei Puskepalis), who until a certain moment was an exemplary citizen of his own country and unquestioningly followed the laws. But disaster struck his family - his expert-criminalist son fell seriously ill with a deadly disease, for the treatment of which fabulous amounts of money are needed. Since the character of the show does not possess these means, and he cannot obtain funds for doctors on charitable grounds, he decides to take a desperate step - to step over the letter of the law. Potapov contacts the bandits whom he recently chased and tried to put behind bars. The clever guys were engaged in the production and distribution of counterfeit cash among the population. By getting involved with them, the criminalist wants to accumulate enough money for expensive treatment. But in order not to fall into the hands of his own colleagues, the police expert resorts to a series of tricks to cover up the traces of the crime. But everything hidden almost always becomes evident...
