An incredibly dramatic television series of domestic production is the creation of the joint efforts of directors Miroslav Malich and Vladimir Balkashinov, who so successfully adapted the literary works of Alexander Pokrovsky, a quite talented marine writer.

The plotline tells of the challenging service of brave Pavel Goryunov, a captain of the first rank and the commander of the nuclear submarine K-333 "Lynx," which he has been skillfully navigating for quite some time. The man has earned respect and authority among officers and subordinates. Although he has a distinctive and independent nature, he is ready to carry out leadership orders at any moment, no matter how difficult or controversial they may be. His submarine has had to catch an American spy submarine that gathered intelligence while being so far from home waters. Their team also had to rush headlong to help a sinking ship, even though they were significantly distracted from their assigned course. These and many other heroic actions have made Captain Goryunov practically a cult figure throughout the Northern Fleet.

A new head of the medical staff, young Lieutenant Alexander Petrovsky, an ideological and intelligent guy, arrives on the legendary ship. From the very first days, he has quite tense relations with the willful Goryunov, and the further they go, the more difficult it will be for the men to find common ground and make peace.
