The place became a film studio called Cinecittà. However, all the outfits present in the TV series are indeed sewn by masters of tailoring, who work on orders from the Vatican.

The story is about how a quite young cleric, Lenny Belardo, was honored to occupy the Vatican throne and become the new Pope Pius XIII. The young man has a pretty cool character and has quite progressive views, so his appointment to such a responsible and incredibly respected position immediately causes dissatisfaction among some layers of society in the Vatican. After all, the new Pope intends to change the centuries-old system of values, and this is completely unacceptable for many representatives of the Vatican’s nobility, who will sharply put obstacles in the way of the young patriarch. The series will lift the veil on the secret life of the state in the Vatican, which is rarely brought to public attention. As it turns out, such pure and blessed sacred walls hide a lot of internal cunning, corruption, and political intrigue, which accompany the fierce struggle for influence and the throne.
