Jamestown release date

The British historical series based on Benjamin Wallis' novel is airing on the Sky1 channel. Some of the leading directors include Samuel Donovan ("Utopia") and Paul Wilshurst ("Da Vinci's Demons", "Doctor Who").

The interesting narrative thread takes viewers back to the origins of European conquest of American territory - English colonists. The colonization of the New World can be traced back to the 17th century (1607), when some of the first settlements were established. One of these towns was Jamestown, where British subjects began their adventurous lives. From that moment, a new era for the American continent began. However, the indigenous population of these lands was clearly not inclined towards peaceful coexistence. In addition, the colonists themselves depended on the English church, the orders of the king, and the British aristocracy, and represented a new and quite diverse society. Interestingly, the main characters of the serial project are three beautiful young women who had to embark on a difficult journey - they crossed the ocean to reach Jamestown and become wives of some of the first colonists. It was truly a strong-willed decision to entrust their fate to marriage with unknown men. The viewers are introduced to the three characters of the girls and a new chapter in each of their lives, filled with struggles for self-determination, romantic episodes, and a deep dramatic component of the conflict between the world of humans and the wild nature, collisions of Indian and European cultures.
