The TV series "Jessica Jones" appeared on the streaming service Netflix on November 20, 2015. The show, based on the Marvel Universe comic books of the same name, was filmed by ABC Studios. The main character in the series is played by Krysten Ritter.

The show's script transports the viewer into the life of Jessica Jones. In the recent past, she used her superpowers to help people in New York. During one of her missions, she was noticed by Kevin Thompson (also known as Kilgrave), who has the ability to make people around him obey his commands. The inhuman strength with which Jessica drove away hooligans from a guy on the street attracted the villain. Without much thought, he decided to use her as a puppet. For several weeks, she spent time with him and even engaged in a relationship at his command. Their involuntary relationship ended when Kilgrave finds Reva Connors with video recordings of experiments on children, including a boy. Through persuasion, he forces Jones to push the woman, which leads to her death. After these events, Jessica was able to free herself from Kevin's captivity, and his commands no longer work on her.

A short and unsuccessful attempt to be a superhero leads Jones to become a private detective and live a normal life. She decides to develop her career in Hell's Kitchen (a criminal district in Manhattan).
