The plot tells the story of the work of secret services in a zone of high magnetic activity. It is strictly forbidden for outsiders to appear in the anomaly area. However, Vladimir Golenko, a criminal hiding from law enforcement, manages to sneak in. Oleg Malinin and Venedit also end up there. Oleg is a photographer who takes pictures of rare abandoned villages, and Tartarovsky is a writer who has not been able to publish any of his works for several months. In the center of the forbidden zone, a mysterious connection arises between the three completely different men. Malinin begins to possess telepathy and also penetrates Vladimir's mind. At the same time, Venedit has a telepathic connection with Malinin and mentally gives orders to Golenko. The unlucky writer decides to use his new ability for selfish purposes. He starts seeking revenge on all those who have crossed his path in life. A series of bloody crimes begins in the city. Oleg decides to put an end to these murders and turns to the police. However, he is initially suspected of being an accomplice and then is completely isolated in a psychiatric ward.
