USSR, 1960s. Young athlete Valeriy, through diligent training and thanks to his extraordinary talent, finally has a real chance to be selected for the national team. In 1966, Gusko finds himself in a ambiguous situation, as a result of which there is a possibility of manipulation by criminal authorities. The career of promising football player Valeriy Gusko is in jeopardy. The candidate for the national team is unexpectedly accused of murder. The only lead that can save him can only be provided by Konstantin Lopushanskiy, who happened to be a witness to the incident. Currently, Kostya is involved in photography, but they used to play football together with Valera. Lopushanskii's father trained a children's team. He is very proud of his protégé and will do everything in his power to help him. Kostya agrees to assist in the investigation. To do this, he needs to infiltrate the Moscow criminal world, in particular the "farsovshchiki" and representatives of the Bohemian theatrical crowd. It is necessary to find the real killer and prove that Gusko is not guilty of the crime.
