Brian True-May, one of the producers of the crime drama television series "Midsomer Murders", has announced that the 22nd season should be expected in the second half of 2020.
The final series of the 21st part was broadcasted on the "ITV" channel in December 2019. The events transport viewers to a colorful county called Midsomer. This place does not actually exist.

The main protagonist of the project is an experienced law enforcement officer who takes a responsible approach to searching for dangerous criminals. Tom possesses extraordinary intellectual abilities and is skilled at noticing numerous unnoticed details. He holds the position of a senior inspector and makes incredible efforts to ensure that peaceful citizens live in relative tranquility and do not worry about their own safety. Working together with his indispensable assistant, the man urgently goes to the scene of the incident and analyzes the situation. He carefully examines the available evidence and does not overlook any valuable witnesses. The law enforcement officer considers himself a good policeman but also finds time for his beloved family. He also has a cousin who soon replaces him at his post.
The following actors took part in the crime series: John Nettles, who starred in the films "The Hound of the Baskervilles" and "Romeo and Juliet", Jane Wymark, known for the TV shows "Poldark" and "Second Screen", Barry Jackson, involved in the feature films "The Fourth Angel" and "Wimbledon", and several others.
The premiere started on March 23, 1997. There have been 128 episodes produced. The key characters of the story are resourceful and hardworking police officers obsessed with the idea of capturing local criminals.
