The TV series "The Other Side of the Moon" from Channel One is an adaptation of the famous show "Life on Mars" from the English channel BBC. The filming was done at the production center "Sreda" under the direction of Alexander Kott.

The plot of the TV series revolves around Mikhail Solovyov, who works in criminal investigation. His latest case involves the search for a maniac systematically killing young girls in the city. During the arrest of the criminal, he hits him with a car, and instead of waking up in the hospital, the main character is transported to the year 1979. Assuming that he is dead, in a coma, or insane, he still decides to live the life offered to him. In the USSR, he continues his line of work - catching criminals and dealing with criminal cases. It turns out that during this time, he was also investigating the case of the maniac, and many of his colleagues attribute his strange behavior to the accident. Now, as a Soviet detective, he tries to figure out how he ended up in the past and if it is possible to escape from there. Along the way, he discovers new details of the crimes and starts to see the connections.

The original TV show had two seasons. The director of the Russian adaptation has already delighted fans of the series with an announcement of the second part in his interview on the radio station "Echo of Moscow." In addition, the American series of the same name and the spin-off "Ashes to Ashes" are based on this idea.
