Outlander Season 3

The second season of the TV series "Outlander" from the cable channel Starz will conclude in the summer of 2016. Viewers can expect a total of 13 episodes that are based on Diana Gabaldon's book "Dragonfly in Amber".

It is still unknown whether a third season of this fantastic drama series will be created. Starz management is likely waiting for approximate ratings that the show will receive during the airing of the next season. If the creator of the project, Ronald Moore, receives an order for the filming process of the next chapter of "Outlander," then the release date for the third season will most likely be set for the fall of 2017.

What will happen in the third season

The created series is based on the series of novels by Diana Gabaldon with the same name. The next volume of the story is called "Voyager" and is most likely to serve as the basis for the plot of the third season. Twenty years after Claire Randall managed to return to her own time with the help of a magical ancient stone circle, she learns that her beloved Jamie Fraser has survived. The passionate love that has not diminished over the years compels her to return to 18th century Scotland, where she wants to find the man and revive their relationship.

The series "Outlander" has been broadcasted on the Starz channel since August 9, 2014. In total, 19 episodes have been shown in the two released seasons, which describe the events of two of Diana Gabaldon's books: "Outlander" and "Dragonfly in Amber." The novel has been included in the list of the top 200 books according to the BBC media network!
