On May 11, 2014, the multi-series horror-thriller "Penny Dreadful" (also known as "Scary Tales") premiered on Showtime channel. The well-known screenwriter John Logan worked on the creation of this show.

The plot unfolds in Victorian London. The city dwellers are so consumed with their own work and daily worries that they do not even notice the appearance of evil on the streets. These sinister creatures can scare anyone to the point of near-death. Many of these creatures are already familiar to the public: the infamous Jekyll with his dark counterpart Mr. Hyde, Dr. Frankenstein with his own creation, the young demon Dorian Gray, Transylvanian celebrity Count Dracula with his wards, and other negative characters. Together on the streets of London, they begin to hunt for the bodies and souls of the people living there. Of course, there are also clashes between them for territorial influence. While these villains indulge themselves, the residents of local houses are afraid to open their doors and go outside. But soon the hunters with the supernatural come to repay these creatures for their actions. Among them is even the well-known supernatural hunter Van Helsing. The main hero of this series is the lonely Ethan Chandler, who came from America and ended up in the lair of the evil forces.
