The plot revolves around Ilya Ponomarev (actor Denis Kaimakov). The young businessman went bankrupt, and his apartment and all its contents were put up as collateral for his large loan. In order not to end up on the street, on the advice of his longtime friend Nikolai Stepanovich, he decides to take in orphaned children from a shelter, as the government will allocate 15,000 rubles per child to Ponomarev. In addition, bailiffs will be powerless and the bank will have to postpone the seizure of interest and the loan from Ilya. Without hesitation, the businessman decides to raise five boys at once. At first, conflicts and internal disputes arise among the boys, but everything changes when Ponomarev starts to approach each child individually. After some time, they become a real family. Ilya and his neighbor Lida get married and adopt the orphans, and later they have their own child. Initially, the business plan brings not only monetary profit but also a loving, close-knit family.
