The American television channel HBO has announced the release of the crime drama called "Sharp Objects". It is expected to include eight episodes. The main role will be played by Amy Adams. The script is based on the best-selling novel of the same name by Gillian Flynn. Other works by this author have already been adapted for the screen.

Amy Adams is set to bring to life the character of a regular reporter from a Chicago newspaper. Camille Preaker's life is boring, but she doesn't give up and dreams of a successful career. One fine day, she is given a rare opportunity to make her dream come true. The girl goes as a correspondent to a small town. It has gained notoriety after a series of murders of little girls. The heroine's task is to discover a sensation and tell the viewers about it. The filming of the story is supposed to take place in Camille's hometown. This fact became the main reason that prompted the newspaper's management to send her on this dangerous business trip. The editor is confident that it will be easier for the girl to get the locals to talk than for people from the outside. However, events unfold according to a different scenario. Camille immerses herself in provincial daily life and gets caught in the epicenter of nightmares.
