The Americans release date
On the American cable television channel FX, a multi-series spy drama "The Americans" started on January 30, 2013. The show's script was created by former CIA employee Joe Weisberg, so you can expect many accurate details from real-life counterintelligence.
The plot takes place during the hottest period of the "Cold War" between the Soviet Union and the United States - the 60s. The main characters of the show are two KGB agents who live undercover as a married couple, Philip and Elizabeth Jennings, in the suburbs of Washington. Disguised as a typical American family, they live an ordinary life of ordinary citizens: they go to work and raise children (who, by the way, are unaware of their parents' secret mission). This goes on for almost twenty years, and the KGB agents become very close, which in turn compromises their mission. But tension begins to escalate when their neighbor Stanley (an agent from the FBI Counterintelligence, Chris Amador) appears in their area and tries to uncover their assignment. The Jennings' ordinary family life instantly transforms into a crime thriller, in which they have to play the leading roles.
