The action takes place in a closed town called Bayzhel, whose population tries to obey the strict laws established by the government. One day, a lifeless body of a young lady is found in the territory of the gloomy region. The investigation of the crime is entrusted to an experienced detective named Borl. Recently, he experienced a personal tragedy. His beloved disappeared without a trace, and the authorities stopped searching for her. Shortly before her mysterious disappearance, the beauty became interested in reading an intriguing book. Its author seriously claimed that there was an invisible settlement nearby, which only chosen lucky ones could enter. The inspector tried to forget about what happened, but he couldn't get the unpleasant incident out of his mind. Tyador's thought about being able to find his beloved woman in the future never left him. Meanwhile, the man begins his investigation and discovers interesting information. The deceased person turns out to be a resident of Ul-Koma, where outsiders are strictly forbidden to enter. The main character obtains permission and crosses the border.
