The Last Kingdom release date
The BBC channel never tires of delighting its fans with new historical series. One of the latest projects shown on BBC America is the show "The Last Kingdom", the first season of which started on October 10 in the United States.
The script of the series is based on the chronicles of the history of England from the 9th century, described in Bernard Cornwell's "The Saxon Chronicles" series of books. At that time, the state of Great Britain did not yet exist on the map, and the island lived as Heptarchy (seven kingdoms). The main character of the show is Uhtred of Bebbanburg, who was kidnapped from Anglo-Saxon lands by Danish Vikings in his childhood. After King Alfred the Great of Wessex recaptures the lands from the Danes, Uhtred will have to decide whose side he will fight for: the people who raised him or his bloodline. Therefore, he becomes a key figure in the Viking war against the Saxons - in order to prove his loyalty, he opposes Ragnar.
The filming process of this historical drama took place in Hungary and England.
