The apocalyptic series "Z Nation" from Syfy channel premiered on screens on September 12, 2014. The creator of the TV show, Karl Schaefer, aimed to immerse the audience in a horror atmosphere reminiscent of the "Resident Evil" franchise.

The plot unfolds in the near future. A terrible epidemic has spread throughout the United States, turning a large part of the population into bloodthirsty zombies. But life doesn't stop there - a group of scientists tries to find a vaccine against the virus. The hope rests on Murphy, a prisoner from New York whose blood contains antibodies to the presented infection. However, there's a catch - the nearest working laboratory for fluid analysis is only surviving 3,000 miles away in sunny California. Lieutenant Mack Hammond of the US Army is assigned to this crucial mission, holding the fate of humanity in his hands. In addition, various groups of survivors attach themselves to the military along the way, attempting to help fulfill the mission. The prisoner himself turns out to be not as simple as he seemed at first glance - his life holds more secrets than his blood. The post-apocalyptic society also poses a direct threat to accomplishing the assigned task.
