The anime series "Tokyo Ghoul" is based on a series of manga comics by the renowned Japanese author Ishida Sui. Currently, his works consist of more than 6 volumes.

The plot of the series unfolds in Japan, around Kamii University student Ken Kaneki in Tokyo. He led an ordinary life and worked part-time at a local cafe until he was attacked by a ghoul girl named Rize Kamishiro. He was able to escape death only because a metal structure collapsed on the attacker. Together, they are admitted to the nearest hospital to save the boy's life, and doctor Kanou decides to perform a transplant of ghoul organs to the student, including the kakuhou, which will turn Ken into a hybrid of a human and a monster.

Ghouls are mystical creatures from Eastern mythology that hunt humans and feed on their flesh. They possess superhuman strength and the ability to survive in extreme situations.

Kaneki realizes what he has become and tries to overcome his need to devour people. The only thing that partially dulls his hunger is coffee. He starts to learn more and more about ghouls who used to disguise themselves as humans. Gradually, he learns how these strange beings live in this world. Soon, he decides to create his own squad to fight against ghouls and save his loved ones from the growing menace.

The fantastic anime "Tokyo Ghoul" airs on the "Tokyo MX" channel.
