Showtime has taken on the adaptation of the continuation of the cult detective series "Twin Peaks", which in 1990-1991 exploded ratings and charts of all channels where it was shown.

The continuation of "Twin Peaks" will air on Showtime cable network in the spring of 2017. It is still unknown how many episodes there will be in the third part of this mystical project.

The actors from the first two parts will gladly take part in the filming of the continuation of the story of the small town in the USA. The creators of the further screenplay stated that the plot of the third season of the detective thriller will continue the original story from the point where it ended.

The TV show "Twin Peaks" was shown on ABC channel starting from April 8, 1990. The plot of the series tells about a small provincial town in the United States. It begins with a series of murders involving Laura Palmer. Under suspicion of an FBI agent and his colleague, Harry Truman, all the residents of the province gradually become suspects, revealing many secrets that the town hides. In total, from 1990 to 1991, 30 episodes were filmed and shown, each lasting an hour, except for the two-hour pilot.
