Underground Season 2

The infringement of the rights of dark-skinned people has always been a pressing issue in American society, which has not been resolved for many centuries. This issue is at the heart of the film "Underground," which ended with great success on television screens on May 11, 2016.

After an unpredictable finale, viewers are craving a continuation, which will take place in spring 2017. Director Anthony Hemingway will continue working on the project, filming under the guidance of "Safehouse Pictures" company. The premiere episodes will be shown on the WGN channel.

What will happen in Season 2

The series tells the story of the harsh fate of black slaves, who have run out of strength to endure abuse from their owners, and they decide to escape. After careful planning, the group of slaves manages to carry out their plan, but they also face difficulties on the outside - capturing or killing a slave is rewarded with a good amount of money that few refuse. Having reached the underground station, the heroes encounter new, sometimes unbearable challenges that not everyone is able to overcome. In the second season of the show, the runaway slaves will continue to fight for their right to exist freely, but many of them will perish under the weight of the dangers and cruelties of that terrible time.

The show premiered on March 9, 2016 and immediately attracted over one and a half million viewers to their screens. 10 episodes were filmed, each of which gathered incredible ratings, leaving the creators of "Underground" no other choice but to continue shooting.
