Since May 28, 2015, the criminal drama "Aquarius" has started airing on the cable channel NBC from the United States. The main role in the show was played by the recurring actor David Duchovny, known for "The X-Files" and "Californication". The project's screenplay is partially based on real events that took place in America.

The series' actions transport viewers to the year 1967. In Los Angeles, the era of "flower children" or "hippies" begins. The main characters of the TV show are detective Sam Hodiak and his undercover operative partner Brian Shafe. Sam's former lover, Grace Karn, comes to the police station seeking help. Her teenage daughter, Emma, has disappeared from home and she wants to bring her back. The investigation of this case leads the experienced detectives to a cult called "The Family," which is led by the psychopath Charles Manson. Deceptively, he engages in the propagation of hippie culture, drugs, and group sex. On the territory of his ranch, he gathers a group of people with children, whom he plans to lead into the "Age of Aquarius." But in reality, this seemingly benevolent goal will end in a series of brutal murders.
